[Hide Comment] The start is not chossy at all. Just a little dirty because it doesn't see any traffic. I used almost every possible hold figuring out the sequence and didn't break anything. Also, 3 bolts, not two. I brushed off the holds and it climbs great. Favorite movement out of all the 12's on this wall. Best to prehang the second draw. Tough clip and very hard to hang. I think it could use it's own set of anchors straight up from the third bolt. I'd be happy to install them with approval from the bolter. Sep 10, 2017
[Hide Comment] Can someone explain the difference between this route and The Pinch? It seems like both Man with a Beard and The Pinch share the same bolts and the same set of anchors. I saw the beta photo of The Pinch and Man with a Beard on The Pinch MP page, but It looks like Man with a Beard just kind of goes to nothing in the beta photo. Apr 22, 2020

[Hide Comment] Jordan Man with a Beard is a very contrived line. I thought I climbed it but apparently I climbed the pinch. Seems like the obvious way to climb the route. Apr 22, 2020
[Hide Comment] Man With A Beard was originally intentioned to stay left almost on the arete ascending through the two microledges, possibly even adding an additional bolt if that's possible. There is a huge jug at the very top of the far left wall where I envisioned anchors. So potentially man with a beard and the pinch would share some bolts down low but have separate anchors. Or get a hold of Steve and use your best judgment what the hell do I know. Have glue ins even been installed in the lower bolts? Feb 28, 2024
