Pringles

5.10c, Sport, 60 ft (18 m),  Avg: 1.6 from 17 votes
FA: Glenn Ritter, Joi Matsukawa 2017
Utah > Central Utah > Maple Canyon > Right Fork > Cragganzenden

Description

Its a little sugary at the first bolt, but leads to some really fun deep pockets and interesting edges on the upper sections. There is a distinct crux in the sandstone bulge at mid height. The best and most solid holds to start are ticked and slightly right as you approach the 1st bolt, then angling left as you pass bolts 2 and 3. Afternoon sun. This route lowers from chains about 1/2 way up the wall.

Location

This route is on the southwest facing side of Cragganzenden. Ascends very white rock and gets plenty of sun from mid day onward.

Protection

6 bolts, chains with steel biners.
Stick clip the 1st bolt to avoid any concerns.

[Hide Comment] This route was originally rated an 11, but seems like with traffic a much better sequence has bee discovered for doing what was the crux sandstone band at mid-height. This makes the route several letters easier and more consistent from top to finish. Sep 17, 2017
[Hide Comment] The FA was very optimistic about this route cleaning up. It hasn't. At all. Belayer MUST wear a helmet. Seriously. My 150lb partner still managed to rain down a serious amount of rock. I'd hate to see what my 200lb+ partners would do to this!! Stick clip the second bolt. Don't play around with this choss pile. Things are breaky and it's not worth carrying leader or belayer out over this POS. It is NOT 2.5 stars. It did NOT clean up. Sorry, FA, we all get duds sometimes. 9/5/2021 Sep 5, 2021
