> 8) The Last Wave Slab
Description
START- At a faint dike 10 +/- ft left of The Last Wave. The dike enlarges to include quartz protrusions where it breaks through an overlap about 15 +/- ft up.
P1 - Climb up to the overlap (#2 or #1 Camalot-sized gear on the right) and climb through it (5.6+ +/- harder if short). Thin moves (5.8, now PG-13 or R) along and on the now-faint dike lead to pretty continuous 5.7 R going-to X and the top. 90 ft 5.8 R, 5.7 R/X
Protection
The ONLY gear is at the overlap...medium-large cam(s)
The route can be top roped from an anchor constructed on a tree at the left side of the tree island.
[Hide Photo] The faint dike of Surfing Primitives can be seen just to the right of S Matz (in "bug jacket") as she starts up "Student Daze". Given the moss below the dike, perhaps the best start for both climbs.
