A short and relatively sandy offwidth just to the left of right crack.. hence the name "left crack".. get it? Crux is getting into the crack itself, once you have your body positioned right you can inch your way up the crack. 2/3rds the way up the crack becomes fist and bulges over.

Location

On the north side of Conan's corridor, just to the left of right crack. Cant miss it.. See right crack for more Info.

Protection

Large cams and a number 3-3.5 for the top. Sling the boulder above right crack for an anchor.

[Hide Comment] Lots of kitty litter on this one. my belayer said he couldn't even look up while belaying there was so much coming down. #5 or #6 would probably give the leader more peace of mind. Arm bars down low, stacks up high. WILL NOT go at 5.7 if you are facing in the crack the wrong way. Nov 17, 2019

[Hide Comment] Off width. It’s a grunt however which way you face in. Lots of chicken winging. I have a 5 and a 6. Wish to have another 6 BD. There is still lots of pebble falling off. Scape my ankle despite wearing a TC pro. Walk off Climbers right, west. But there is repel anchor on the right of the route, which we use the second time up when we do the 5.8 right crack which is much easier then the 5.7 left crack.
Getting to the base is an odyssey as described by the administrator for this area. But I think it’s worth it, because no one will be there. Nov 24, 2025
