Seasonal Raptor Closures Details

Description

This has interesting start moves to the first bolt followed by sustained 5.8 slab to the roof. Find the jugs over the roof, and get a high left foot on the lip to reach the last bolt and the anchor. The start and finish cruxes bump this to 5.9.

Location

It is the farthest left route on High Wire directly adjacent to Pony Up.

Protection

8 bolts comfortably spaced to a 2 bolt anchor with quicklinks.

Very fun climb that's not in the guidebook. Always remember to reference Mountain Project in addition to using a book! The crux over the bulge did feel harder than 5.9, but I think it's totally dependent on your comfort with mantling. I think solid 10 climbers will find thiseasy vs. those new leaders who might have a tougher time with the spookiness. 5.9+ seems solid. 4 days ago

The high crux feels harder than 5.9 to me, but I don't gym climb, so maybe that's why. I can usually on-sight 5.9, but I couldn't do this crux even after hanging. Jul 1, 2017
