N Carolina > Pilot Mountain > Big Arete
The name and grade comes from the Carolina Climbers Coalition guidebook.
Climb the left side of the 30 ft. tall buttress that lies left of the Big Arete area. Can be climbed different ways but you will end on the left face directly above the trail
Bolted Anchors. To set the anchors, scramble up the chimney behind the buttress to the top. On the top there is a surface big enough for 3-4 people to lay/sit. These anchors are fairly easy to set.

Climb up the left side of the buttress and go left of the big flake about halfway up

Judging from the CCC guidebook description, the description on LLoyd's old site (
), and the description in the Carolina Rocks Piedmont guidebook, I don't think Ibuprofen Junky resides on the small buttress. The route actually goes up the face left of the buttress, to the top of the cliff.
I think there are only two routes on the buttress. The route described here is a variation of Hunger Strike.

Thank you for the comment Benandstuff. After looking over the guidebook again, I do agree that this climb is not Ibuprofen Junky. However, I still would say that there is a climb to the left of Hunger Strike because their is a set of bolts to the left of the bolts for Hunger strike.
I posted pictures for both this climb and Hunger Strike and while they do overlap a bit, they follow different paths(at least when I climbed them). I posted the best pic that I have from climbing it.

Are there three anchors up there? I thought there were two- one for each route. I can definitely give it a look next time I am at Pilot.

While I have not climbed in this specific area in about a year, as far as I know there are 3 sets of bolts on the buttress.
