California > Sonora Pass Hig… > Knight's Ferry > Unknown boulder

Description

What this problem lacks in a landing, it makes up for with a pleasant location. Keep an eye out for the ancient piton after the topout.

Location

North side of bridge. Take right trail at big fork. Right before reaching the bank of the river, take a sharp right into this little shaded area.

Protection

Crashpad

Start left foot on 'x' and right hands on jugs. Switch feet, then throw left heel on step and heel-toe lock. Reach right to crimp and match with left hand. Once you (uncomfortably) topout, you either need to down climb or jump off onto a crashpad.

[Hide Comment] That is not the Devils Tongue. Devils Tongue is a different boulder. Also there are 3 problems on this boulder, all done in late 80s. The chimney is easy like 5.7 or something. The problems up the face on either side of the chimney are quite difficult with some scary potato chips to yard on. I forget what we called them. May 28, 2021
