Description

Consistent climbing through up a crack of widely varying widths, although crack climbing technique is not really necessary at any point on this route.

Location

Just to the right of Bear Hugging Big Hilda which is in the middle section of climbing on Scarry Wall. From the access trail, after passing the first section of bolted slab climbs the trail starts to wind a bit and go up a small rise. Big Hilda can be identified because it looks like a giant left-leaning "v" formed by two cracks. Kittle Loves Pickles is the right crack of this "v".

Protection

A little bit of everything small nuts, medium cams. A large cam (BD#6) comes in handy for a large offwidth section half way up. Bolted anchor directly above the ledge at the top.

Photos

This is a great lead for a new trad leader. The pro is right where you want it and solid with big holds that don't require you to know how to crack climb. Jan 29, 2017
