Description Suggest change

Viewed from the lower reaches of the basin formed by Quadrant-Houdini-Pythias-Damon-Gog/Magog, Houdini looks like a spectacular, thin spire. Then, "presto/abracadam" it dissapears as you climb up!

From Fairy Meadow, up the trail and to the Quadrant-Houdini col. Thence up easy (Class 3-4?) rock on the north ridge of Houdini to the summit.

The traverse along the ridge can be continued to Mt Pythias and then down it's West Ridge to Friendship Col.

First Ascentionist Andy Kaufman ( together with Pete Schoening) are the only two Americans with a first ascent of an 8000 meter peak, Gasherbrum l (aka Hidden Peak) on July 5, 1958.

Protection Suggest change

Some may wish a short rope here and there, maybe a few slings to sling boulders.

I don't remember much about the descent off of Pythias, but don't recall anything too difficult or exciting.
