Battaglia’s Backside SDS

V7, Boulder,  Avg: 1.9 from 15 votes
FA: someone at somepoint
Colorado > Boulder > Flagstaff > Dark Side > Jim Hall Boulder

Description

Start down and left from the start holds of Battaglia's Backside with your left hand on a crimp and your right hand on a slopey crimp (it is possible to pinch it, but the rock for the pinch is bad). The crimps keep breaking and will feel easier/harder depending on their condition.

Make a big move to a right hand crimp or left hand pinch. Finish straight up.

The first move is great, but overall the problem is really only ok. It would be much better if it wasn't a lowball and if it had better rock. See video below:

[Hide Comment] Flashed this, and it feels no harder than V5, IMO. The stand felt like no harder than V2. One tough start move off small crimps with ledge foot. Positive crimps and jugs to the top. Mar 18, 2020

[Hide Comment] No clue if it's just not my style or what, but it felt really hard. Aug 27, 2021
