Access Issue: Keeping climbs open depends on maintaining good relationships with locals and monks
Details
This climbing area is intertwined with monasteries and pagodas. It is critical for climbing in Myanmar to maintain these relationships through respectful conduct with the monks and the surrounding areas. Please be modest, respectful, friendly, and responsive to the wishes of the monks and local people. Do not climb on religious monuments, and remove shoes when crossing over established pagoda areas.
Description
An awesome route that moves through a patch of dirty stone to the best rock on the cliff. Two distinct difficult sections lead you to the headwall, and one more crux before a relatively easier section to the anchors. This route is the middle of three routes (Golden Ridge Recollection and Brexit, the others) that share a starting boulder problem and first two bolts. Golden Ridge goes left after the second bolt, Monet's Rising Sun goes straight up, and Brexit goes right after the third bolt.
Location
On the right side of Karaweik Wall between Golden Ridge Recollection and Brexit. Number 9 on the Karaweik Wall right topo photo.
Protection
9 bolts plus two bolt anchors with rings. All bolts are stainless steel wave bolts installed 12/2016.
