The Joshua Tree National Park Superintendent's Compendium states that:
1. Vegetation is not allowed to be used as an anchor.
2. Only neutral or rock colored bolt hangers are allowed.

Description
Climb the large crack just left of "Just Another Roadside Attraction". Watch out for loose, grainy rock and questionably holds. Not more than 5.7 until a final groveling, humping move over a bulge to top out.
You can climb this, and afterwards you will be warmer, but I would hesitate to call it a warm-up.
