Description

Shades of Gray (SOG) is a nice, casual two pitch outing--one of the few multi-pitch routes in Logan Canyon and, along with it's neighbor, Dreamsicle, perhaps the best. Dreamsicle and SOG share the first 1.5 pitches.
Pitch 1: About 8 bolts. Start at bottom of the slot and stay left. Shares the first (about) 5 bolts with Chain Reaction, but moves left into a right facing dihedral, which it follows to the rightmost edge of the party ledge. 2 bolt belay.
Pitch 2: About 7 bolts. Climb up and left to two bolt anchor at top of wall. SOG and Dreamsicle share the first 4 or 5 bolts of the second pitch. Stay left
60 Meter rope is sufficient if done as two pitches. Recommend rapping straight down from pitch 2 anchor and climbing Razzmatazz, or hanging out on the party ledge.

Protection

2 pitches. About 8 bolts each, plus anchors.

The first pitch starts in the "slot" from the ground. I had been confused by what the "slot" was. If you look up from the ground you will see some white chains at the top of a V groove. Those are the first chains for Brown Noser. The beginning of Shades of Grey is the slab on the left of the V. The bolts are black and VERY hard to see. Jul 20, 2017
