Description

Trump Tower is a dumpy little tower that looks like an orange turkey. It inexplicably became the subject of attention in 2016, but should fade back into obscurity after early November. The rock has so little integrity that it is mostly just dirt, and crumbles under the slightest pressure.

Start in a dirty, dirty groove, pop a couple of tic tacs, and then grope your way past three bolts before heaving onto the summit.

Be careful - the rock is probably the worst i've ever climbed in the desert.

Sad!

Location

Take the Lone Tree exit from I70, drive south a short distance to a T junction, turn left, and park just before the dirt road dead ends at a fence. Trump Tower is the loser little tower sitting in a alcove just south of this dirt road.

Protection

3 bolts and a .75 camalot to protect the final mantel onto the summit.

The anchor took quite a bit of excavation before any ok rock was found. It'll likely be buried, but hopefully chains and a summit register will be visible.

Such bad reporting: some @MtnProject piece says The Nose in @YosemiteNPS is the most famous climb in the world. But Trump Tower is #1, easily! Sad.

Looks like this tower isn't going anywhere eh? ;) Nov 9, 2016
This route, she's a 5/10. It's very hard for mounds so small to be a ten out of ten. Nov 8, 2016
Before the bolts this thing was a DISASTER! A total DISASTER! Then I said "I'm the only one that can fix it." Now it's bolted with the strongest bolts. The best bolts. Fixed. Forget the quality of the rock, these bolts are the best. Nov 7, 2016
It is the level of 5.9 that is incredible. I’m telling you, I used to use the grade 5.9, now I just call them Trump Tower. I went to an Ivy League school. I’m very highly educated. I know words, I have the best words. I have the best, but there is no better word than Trump Tower. Right? There is none, there is none. There’s no, there’s no, there’s no word like that. Nov 7, 2016

Best to be a Short Fingered Vulgarian for the onsight. Nov 7, 2016
Its a very challenging climb, but with persistence, you can overcomb. Nov 7, 2016
Honestly, with so few climbs on this tower, I suggest that we just build a wall. Nov 7, 2016

Do you move on it like a bitch? Nov 7, 2016
Just grab it by the jugs. When you're a professional rock climber, the rocks just let you do it. It's unbelievable. Nov 7, 2016

You'll be so tired of climbing this tower you won't want to climb anymore ... Nov 7, 2016
Some people are saying that this isn't a real tower. I don't believe those people. This thing is bigly, the most bestest tower. Everyone will want to climb this. Nov 7, 2016

Best for small hands.
A bit airy. Exposed and scary, but with no substance. No margin for error. Nov 7, 2016
As a stand against false equivalency in the comparison of candidates for 'tower' status, I must point out that this dumpy orange blob is not actually a real tower, as it is clearly wider than it is tall. Nov 6, 2016
