California > High Desert > Apple Valley Area > Horsemen's Center > Keepers Cove > Dike Walk Wall

Description

I did a lieback and then transitioned into a crack climb. When the crack runs out near the top you finish with some committed smearing. This was at the top of my climbing ability so explore different approach and post if you find a better way. Climb on!

Location

To climbers right of Dike walk.

34.482108, -117.131502

Protection

5 bolts, chain anchor with mussys. The crux midway up is well protected with closely spaced bolts.

[Hide Comment] If you're familiar with laybacking, this should not be that difficult, especially compared to trad routes in Yosemite. 10a seems a more reasonable grade. It is well protected and fun. Mar 27, 2017

[Hide Comment] A little slice of Margheritaville without the drive!

A lieback gains a wide pinch and the end of the difficulties, after which it's about 5.8 slab to the top.

A little gritty but fun moves and the route will only get better with more traffic. Apr 26, 2017
