Washington > South-W & Tacoma > Columbia Gorge > Beacon Rock > S Face
Warning Access Issue: CLOSURES: South and East Faces (NW & W Faces Remain Open) DetailsDrop down

Description

Climb up a short step to a broken overlap being careful with the delicate rock overhang. Clip the first bolt under the overlap with a draw long enough to avoid rope drag. Power through the overlap to good holds and continue up the shallow corner past four more bolts. Delicate stemming and small edges brings you to a low angle finger crack finish. This is fine sustained Beacon climbing.

Location

Bladerunner is approached via the South Face trail. Just past and west of the slab route Cruisin, is a small amphitheater of rock located below Snag Ledge. You will spot the new bolts and overhanging flake start of Bladerunner easily from the trail.

Protection

5 bolts and gear to 1.5"

Offset & small nuts
Camalot Sizes 0.3-1.0

Top anchors have now been added, don't top rope off the rap rings please.

[Hide Comment] I used two of the gold offset nuts in the thin stuff and that worked superbly. Jul 30, 2017
