DescriptionStart low in the cave deep on the left side of the boulder. Make your way out right on sharp crimps and edges to the arete. Reach around the arete to minuscule incut crimps to a scary and committing top-out up the middle. Mantle and heel-hook to finish what feels exposed due to a stepped down landing.
The crux is keeping your feet and butt from dragging on the ground. This problem could be considered, 'sand-bagged.' Also, it chipped in early 2015, so it jumped a number grade.
Start directly on the arete and it's around V8.
LocationFrom the Beech Cliff parking lot, follow the Beech Mountain trail at the Northwest corner of the parking lot (back left, if staring at the parking lot boulder).
The trail splits after a quarter mile, stay right. The boulder will be up the hill after trudging another quarter mile through dense forest. The line is visible from the trail on the right side, in a boulder pile.
