Description

Dramatic roof turns out to be not as hard as it looks -- with some creative moves required.

Slab to a pillar, then take the obvious wide crack (Every which way) through the roof. Rewarded by some thoughtful slopers in the corner to the top.

Originally climbed as boulder problem (with a scary landing).
. . (? the 2011 print guidebook suggests that there might be a V7 / 5.13 variation ? "Deez Titanium Ballz" ?).

name: One of the most popular films starring Clint Eastwood -- together with Sondra Locke and Clyde the orangutan.

warning: Loose rock is still a concern here. Belayer or other members of party should not stand anywhere near underneath the climber.

. . . (Lots of vegetation on this rock as of 2016. Be prepared when climbing to navigate around protruding trees and branches, and dealing with holds slippery with grass, lichen, moss, dirt).

Location

Big low roof on steep slope up from the Giving Tree.

[Hide Comment] The route is bolted, and we climbed with just our sport gear. Extremely fun and well thought out. So glad we climbed this route. It was pumpy for me but solid moves. I loved the feel of the rock. There were a couple of loose questionable holds to be mindful of when climbing (pretty obvious), and my partner let me know a small rock did get kicked down, but nothing too crazy. I'll definitely be doing this route again. I advise wearing a helmet always, but this one for sure. Aug 7, 2021
