Building Gondolin follows a direct line of crack, dihedrals and thin corners to join the top of Caragdur. One of the Valley's best 5.11- multi-pitch outings. All anchors are equipped to rappel. Approach time is roughly 30-40 minutes from the CAD Climber's Camp. Cross the tyrolean to the Caragdur trail, follow uphill to yellow flagger, head right following yellow flagger through two open patches of forest and up to the obvious shimmering white finger crack splitting the massive flake.

Pitch 1: "Cali Crack" Climb the obvious splitter in the middle of the gigantic flake to a 1 bolt + .5 camalot belay. 5.9 50m

Pitch 2: Head left off belay and slab straight up into dihedral. Continue up dihedral over air dyke move. Belay up and to the right at the base of the wide crack. 5.10b 45m

Pitch 3: The pump pitch. Climb the wide crack past chockstone, continue up left arching dihedral, mantle over lip, traverse up and right to 2 bolt belay. *Use long slings on this pitch to reduce rope drag* + Don't forget the directional at the top! 5.10d 60m

Pitch 4: Continue straight up the corner, crank over a small roof, continue straight up a thin insecure corner leading into splitter cracks and a 2 bolt belay. 5.11a 55m

Pitch 5: Beautiful features lead straight up a the direct splitter to a bolted belay. 5.10a 60m

Rap the route.
