Massachusetts > Eastern, MA > Rattlesnake Rocks > Playground
Warning Access Issue: Closure information? DetailsDrop down

Description

Stroll up the blocky section, and stay to (climber's) right underneath the impressive roof. Foot placements are limited for traversing right, and crimpy holds are pretty desperate for the grade. Boston Rocks has this at 5.7+... the plus may indicate a grade (or two) - be warned.

Location

Look for the roof about 30' off the deck in the middle of The Playground. The route exits the roof to the right.

Protection

Set up a toprope. Use long slings (>30') to get back to some solid trees.

[Hide Comment] A key hold seems to have fallen off resulting in desperate feet through the crux. This route now feels like a local 5.8/5.9. Some may say a "5.7++". Aug 18, 2017

[Hide Comment] The majority of the climb is easy, it is only the last few moves that are a tricky and a bit strenuous. The swing potential because of rope position makes committing to the first move off the good foot holds pretty exciting! Jul 27, 2020
