Access Issue: Display Discover Pass, do not block gates, and park off the road
Details
DNR wants to pass on a friendly reminder to display your Discover Pass, not block any gates, and park well off the road to prevent getting ticketed or towed. Access Fund and Washington Climbers Coalition continue to partner with DNR on stewardship and management of the Gold Bar Boulders and their access sites. Access Issue: The land owners are fine with climbers who are respectful
Details
Do not park directly across from mile marker 33 as stated in the guidebook. Just west of the mile marker is a better parking spot which lends to afternoon shade and only adds a few dozen meters of approach. There are private property signs but the land owners in the area expressed concern only with illegal activity and messes; pack out what you pack in and try to leave no trace.
Description
From a small boulder near the river's edge, take a huge flying leap for the jug. Mantel, and top out.
Location
Main beach boulder, downstream side, right near (or at) the water's edge.
Protection
Landing varies according to the height of the river. You may be able to lay down pads, or you might go flying into the drink. Have fun, be safe.
