Colorado > Grand Junction… > Swimming Hole

Description

This is the third climb from the left. This route climbs straight up on some flakey ledges with many good rest points. This continues until around the 10th clip which then heads to the right. An extended draw would be useful since there might be some serious rope drag if not. The crux requires use of a high right foot, right hand pocket, and mantle with the left hand.

Location

It is two routes right of Unknown.

Per Samson Drake: it’s just to the right of the rock pointing to the river.

Protection

13 bolts to a two bolt anchor. No lowering rings/chains. Rappel clean needed.

[Hide Comment] 13 quickdraws to anchor (I skipped some bolts, super protected wall). Anchor bolts are interestingly placed. High left bolt, lower left one. Makes up for weird toprope anchor. The rock quality is iffy, test holds. Flaky areas, lots of loose rocks/dirt. Still a fun route nevertheless! Apr 15, 2020
