Access Issue: Closed due to road conditions in the Spring; caching of gear
Details
There is a gate that is closed depending on the condition of the road to this crag. It will likely limit access to this cliff and the others in the Little Popo Agie canyon until at least the first of June every year. This severely limits the season as by mid June the temps get pretty hot. Local activists are collaborating with the Forest Service to try to find a long term access solution.
Also, gear caches are not allowed at Wolf Point. The Forest Service frowns upon stashed ropes and backpacks. There is a real danger of losing access to the crag if we cannot keep a low profile and practice good stewardship of the climbing resource.
Also beware of the large amount of rattle snakes.
Description
Extension to Bark at the Moon. Continue up past the anchor on that route, following a dihedral on crimps and gastons for three bolts. Move slightly right up pockets and a shouldery lay back to long cranks on small pockets and edges. Technical climbing with a pump carried on from the 12c first pitch. You need an 80 meter rope to lower off this pitch to the ground.
Location
Right side of the main cave feature.
Protection
Bolts. The first pitch is fixed with stainless cable draws. The extension has 6 more bolts plus chains.
