Description

Start at an old downed tree stump. Pull a contrived mantle to a low angle slab. Traverse right to the crack. Grab large holds to an alcove with a distinct crux. Keep an eye out for the fearless lizard the route is named after on the belay ledge. He will try to tell you what's up.

Location

Furthest route right. By a tree bench.

Protection

4 bolts to a two bolt anchor with one quicklink and a bail biner.

[Hide Comment] I liked this route the best at Pebble Beach. Fun moves, even in the chimney/offwidth. May 22, 2017

[Hide Comment] Funny you should mention that. We revisited this route yesterday and thought the same thing. The first bolt will most likely be removed and the remainder will stay where they are. The direct start was easy and dirty so we tried to make a contrived start for a few more moves.

I personally think the crux bolt and the one above the alcove are in good spots with the right stance. Apr 29, 2019

[Hide Comment] Personally I didn't have any problem with the bolt placement. I would suggest that if you're concerned that you could place a cam at the bomber crack at the left side of the roof. This is a really fun route. Jun 19, 2023
