Sluice Box

5.9, Trad, 40 ft,  Avg: 2 from 6 votes
FA: unknown
Washington > Southwest Cascades > Wankers Columns

Description

Start up easy ledges (start of Nuggets) and then squeeze into the stem box. If the bottom section of the box was cleaned you could start straight up stemming probably... Mid section allows you to have some moves using the arĂȘte right/left. The final 2/3 is steeper and requires strenuous stemming.

Location

Look for a clean continual box between two really solid columns. To the left of Nuggets.

Protection

Pro up to 1". Easily found in the cracks to the left and right in the box if kept clean.

[Hide Comment] Lead this route this last weekend. Takes lots of small gear. Placements were a little dirty but on the flip side you get lots of stable chimney stances to fiddle with the gear till you like it. Gave the inside right crack a good cleaning with my nut tool on the way down. C3's 00, 0, 1, 2 X4's .1, .2, .3, .4, .5 all went in. Sep 26, 2017
