Description

Rangeler: /ˈraNGɡ(ə)lər/ noun.

A person of the desert that has a passion for searching, finding and gathering the finest lines and vertical gems in Arizona and beyond. A person with a generous attitude for adventure and fun. One of a kind.

The Rangeler is a classic tips to fingers crack that splits the East face of Ashley's Block. Leave the ground through a quick bouldery start and into thin but widening finger crack.

Grade will depend on hand size or how much tape you use. Anywhere from .11- to beyond. Would be 4 stars anywhere granite.

Location

From Boulder Loop South trail walk up easy washes towards the feature. A faint trail will take you to the base. The Rangeler is obvious from the trail.

What a sweet little line. Didn't get the onsight, but it's all there, just sequency. Definitely has that granite sting to it. First third is mega thin, but the top is juicy jams! A bit of kitty litter still peeling off the sides, but mostly clean family fun.

Also, easy to scramble around back to set up a TR if you wanted to work it. Oct 9, 2017

Huge thanks to Manny for finding and equipping this line and then having the kindness to graciously allow me to visit and climb on this line. Its a beautiful line that calls to you the moment you see it from the trail. Left the ground as the rain started to fall and reached the top as the wind and rain picked up tingling all 5 of my senses.

Crack has a bit of bite to it but not worth disobeying the Earn Your Burn Anti-Tape™ manifest. Would even be difficult in JTree. Apr 11, 2016
