[Hide Comment] We went back and repeated this route a couple of months after the fa. It's a fantastic route on basically perfect New Jack rock. Mini crux passing the 1st bolt, good slab climbing up to a steep finish (crux). Well worth going to, deserves more stars. Apr 18, 2016

[Hide Comment] @Jack, there must have been rainbows in the sky that day. This route is better than the neighbor to the right but "basically perfect New Jack rock"? I actually claimed that if this is the first wall/crag you come to at NJC you'd leave disappointed and claiming the area was total choss. Fred isn't a total bomb, but there is much better to be had. [Hide Comment] Decent crag, but definitely not the best in NJC. It's a good spot during the colder months as it's East facing so you get some good sunlight in the morning. Great protection but belayers beware, there's a lot of flaky rocks and insecure holds if you veer off-course a little. I went here to practice solo top-roping and it was pretty challenging. Think I'll stick to some easier routes next time! Oct 28, 2018

[Hide Comment] Excellent warm up before heading up the hill to drunken midget wrestling and bighorn buttress. Apr 12, 2019

[Hide Comment] Perfect warmup and fair grade for newer sport leaders. Don't stray too far to the left, almost got a big rock to the head when a hold popped off. Jan 16, 2021
