RAIN, WET ROCK and RAPTOR CLOSURES: The sandstone around Moab is fragile and is very easily damaged when it is wet. Also please ask and be aware of Raptor Closures in areas such as CAT WALL and RESERVOIR WALL in Indian Creek Details

Description

Start up steep jugs to the splitter hand-to-fist crack. Two-bolt anchor on the left at around 40 or 45 feet. Worth doing for the minimal effort required.

Location

Fear and Loathing in Choss Vegas climbs the splitter crack up the center of the small buttress above the dinosaur track parking lot. Hike on trail up toward the dinosaur tracks or up a gully to the left, then traverse left to the base of the climb.

Protection

Optional #1 or maybe another small cam at the bottom. (2) #2, (2) #3, (1) old #3.5 will sew it up.

Did this back in 9/11/2013, I wasn't sure if it had been climbed before, but my original first ascent I topped it out, which is why I gave it the name-the upper rock hadn't seemed like it had ever seen traffic-i certainly would not recommend anyone topping it out. I went back with a friend in 2014 and put the two bolt anchor in. Im not sure who carved my name on the plaque I made, wasn't me. Nov 6, 2016
