Description
This route is an overlooked section of rock and ice not in the current guidebook. This fun, thoughtful, and challenging climb and was suggested to Marty Molitoris for the new edition of Catskills Ice. Note - this is NOT a first ascent and the name was only suggested, in keeping with the Star Wars theme of the area.
Start by going up Subtraction Gulley and stem out left to reach the ice pillar just below a ceiling. Pull through, up the two ledges, and then continue following the shallow crack (where the skinny tree is growing) up the face. The difficulty is probably M4 or M5 depending on how you attack the crux ceiling. Directly pulling the ceiling is significantly harder than traversing out left.
