Description

This has a boulder problem crux getting off the ledge at the rotten band. There is another crux higher until gargantuan holds are encountered.

Location

This climbs the 4th dihedral from the left side. Move belay from Sun Tan Ledge to the left side anchor.

Protection

8 bolts to a shared anchor with The Leopard.

This is definitely harder than the Leopard, but once again the crux area is not very long, a few moves, so it is over quickly. The holds near the top are amazingly good! Dec 28, 2015

I liked this climb but wasn't too sure about those three giant blocks that make up the arete along the right side of the crux section. The cracks in that arete make one wonder if a 2-ton piece (including some of those great jug holds) might fall out on someone. Look just right of Deb in this photo, at the continuous crack that runs under the "arete" to the right. The route probably goes 5.10 if you just climb the face where the bolts are and avoid using anything to the right of that crack. I recommend that option.

We yarded on the holds on the arete today, and everything seemed solid. Great movement on the upper section. Dec 16, 2018
