For more details visit:
jeffco.us/open-space/alerts… The two areas Jefferson County Open Space intends to close in Clear Creek Canyon, shown on the attached maps, encompass the active eagle nests. ErikaNW: Clear Creek Canyon High Wire crag will be closed on weekdays from August 22 to October 16!
Front Range Climbing Stewards in collaboration with JeffCo will initiate a special project to move the High Wire access trail away from above the Tunnel 2 entrance. High Wire, Low Wire, Higher Wire, and Wall of Justice crags will be closed M-F from 7 am to 5 pm while the crew is working. Access to the crags at this time will be prohibited. Until further notice, weekend access is still allowed.
Thanks for your patience and understanding as work is done to make the High Wire approach safer for all!
Description
This is another easy warm-up for the area with some traversing that also allows you to hang the draws for
Fly Low (and even
Land of the Lost, if you're adventurous!).
Belay from the second set of anchors for the fixed line being careful not to knock down loose rocks on climbers below. You are given the 1st bolt as soon as you set out heading left.
The first "exit" up an easier dihedral ramp to a set of anchors is yours for this route. They are shared with
Fly Low. Should you wish to continue traversing on good horizontals, you'll reach the last couple of bolts and be able to head up to the anchors for
Land of the Lost.
Location
The start is down at the second set of anchors of the fixed line - just before you rap down. Belay from there being careful with your stance and rope management as to not kick loose rocks down on climbers at the lower area.
Protection
7 bolts.
