Warning Access Issue: PRECIPITATION AND WET ROCK DetailsDrop down

Description Suggest change

The climbing started right off the ground and was consistent almost the whole way up. The last 20-30 feet or so eased up and there was a good stance at the anchors. Fun cracks to put gear in, but it didn't strike me as a good beginner trad climb. Better as a climb for a 5.7 trad leader to stretch themselves on.

Location Suggest change

After following the trail between two rock faces (on the back side of Island in the Sky), you will come to a clearing. On the wall on the left you will see some bolts going up. About 20 feet to the right of this is a series of vertical cracks and features going up. This is the Bat's Meow.

Protection Suggest change

There were enough cracks and features to only use small to medium cams on this climb, though a climber could find placements for large cams as well. Chain anchors at the top to rappel from.
