Fly Away

5.9, Trad, 50 ft (15 m),  Avg: 2.5 from 4 votes
FA: George Hurley, Mike Kahn
New Hampshire > Lakes Region > Sandwich Notch > 02. Brilliant Corners

Description

Interesting moves down low bring you past two bolts and up onto a sloping ledge. Move up the sloping ledge and start up great holds on the overhang. High third bolt. Don't pull too hard on the flakes. They are feeling pretty hollow.

Location

Far right side of Brilliant corners wall. Fallen tree points directly at the start of the climb.

Protection

Not going to mark it as PG-13 but I think a note of caution is good. A fall if you blow the high third bolt would mean hitting the sloping ledge. Protection before the overhang will keep you from going all the way down but will not keep you from hitting the ledge. small stoppers or medium cams before the jughaul roof. Thigh sized tree at the top.

Ian on the best part (the top bit). Juggy holds lead up a short, slightly overhanging face. There's a great 180° view from the top
