Quincy and at least parts of rattlesnake are state natural areas and thus closes to climbing. Please respect the ban. Details

Great traverse practice

Ascend Slings and Things; lasso the large chicken head, descend to set of horizontal cracks on right, traverse right using large ledge for hand holds. Place protection in thin vertical cracks or extend across large ledge to use horizontal crack. Takes cams and hexes nicely.

Great route to teach beginners about traverses and positive protection to avoid rope drag. May 7, 2015
