Osiris

5.13c, Sport, 40 ft (12 m),  Avg: 2.9 from 9 votes
FA: Jeff Baldwin
Utah > Wasatch Range > Central Wasatch > Big Cottonwood… > JHCOB Wall

Description

It's on! from the moment you pull off the starting slab/block thing until you throw a right cross to the jug at the anchors. No bad holds just powerful moves in between them. Then crammed in between the powerful moves are seven closely spaced bolts, but surprisingly all the clips are mellow. Redpoint this overhanging little beast and earn a golden phallus.

Location

The middle route on the "whiplash wall", a little facet of good rock way over on the (climbers) right side of the Jesus H Christ on a bicycle (JHCOB) wall

Protection

crusty fixed draws (The addition of any new or non-rusty hard ware shall dock the ascendee 1 YDS letter grade)

The whiplash wall. Whiplash is on the right, Osiris is in the middle sharing an anchor with what the Ruckman guide calls a project(still undone?). There is potential to eke out some hard moves going from Osiris to the Whiplash anchor.

[Hide Comment] Channing Lowe posted a video on another page that was fun to watch. That led me to find this: youtube.com/watch?v=pwlIjpj… Jul 24, 2018
[Hide Comment] As of September 27, 2022 ALL lead and anchor bolts have been replaced on Oairis with stainless steel Fixe Inox glue in bolts. ALL bolts were replaced Hole for Hole by the Salt Lake Climbers Alliance Anchor Maintenance Crew

If you observe a bad bolt / anchor, please report to our observation form: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1… Oct 10, 2022
[Hide Comment] Does anyone know when the starting block broke? The right half of it is gone, Dan Goodman uses it for a foot in the YouTube video shared in an earlier comment. I never tried it pre-break but it probably makes the start a little harder. This thing is nails! Oct 3, 2025
