FA: Bert Levy, Ron Wright, 1989
California > Yosemite NP > Yosemite Valley > Valley N Side > C. El Cap Picni… > 1. Schultz's Ridge
Warning Access Issue: Latest updates on closures, permits, and regulations. DetailsDrop down

Description

A 5.9 friction move or 2 after the first bolt. The rest is easier. Tie a knot in the end of the rope! Even with a 70m rope it will only reach 5-10' up on the easy ramp when lowering. A 60m could be used with some more climbing up this ramp. Topropes can be added to nearby climbs after leading this if you choose.

Location

Climb the ramp up the right side of the dark alcove and follow the bolts up from there. Gear can be placed before the easy climbing to the first bolt, which is maybe 40-50' up. It is left of Crystalline Passage, which is the most apparent bolted line on this section of wall.

Protection

Bolts with optional gear

[Hide Comment] You have misspelled my last name on the FA pair. My last name is Wright, not White. I also did the FA of Aces and Eights in Yosemite Valley - you have my last name spelled correctly there. Thanks.
