Remember The Alamo

5.9, Sport, 225 ft (68 m), 3 pitches,  Avg: 2.5 from 45 votes
FA: Magic Ed
International > N America > Mexico > Nuevo Leon > El Potrero Chico > Dihedrals

Description

The crux is the third pitch above the third bolt when you reach the corner. 30 minute hike in very steep. The route itself is stellar with amazing views of The Spires and Mota Wall. There are many pitches being added but aren't open as of March 2015.

Location

Follow the Outrage trail uphill to the spires. Angle left to the top of the ridge and walk the ridge uphill until it ends. Hike left turn a corner and walk uphill to the start. Rap off.

Protection

About 14 draws are enough. 2 bolt anchors with chains.

[Hide Comment] Great climb with incredible views. Holds are solid throughout, exposure was the challenge for me. 10 bolts on P3. There is at least one more pitch after the third. I didn't climb it (4th pitch), but the protection looked ok, slope was slabby. Dec 29, 2018

[Hide Comment] The 4th pitch is super chossy and filled with cactus but will get you the proper summit view. There is not a proper anchor at the top just a shitty quicklink and carabiner on a single bolt. Feb 11, 2019
[Hide Comment] You can link all 3 pitches with no simul with a 70m rope and go down in 2 raps. Feb 5, 2023
