A vertical start by the cave leads to a slabby ramp (max 20' total). Top out and walk a few yards to get in an additional 10' step of ice.

Follow the Sand Cave trail from the trailhead (near the north end of the park) for about 10 minutes till you arrive at a bridge. The ice here is listed under the route name "Sand Cave Bridge". Pass the bridge, and walk another 3 minutes or so till you arrive at Big Sand Cave.
