Description Suggest change

The West Face is much like Baldy Bowl, but longer (up to 2,500ft) and with less rockfall hazard. It is an excellent candidate for a night hike, as the setting sun's rays color this face as night falls.

Location Suggest change

Hike up and over Baldy and West baldy. Drop down the face or San Antonio Ridge, taking one of the gullies to the bottom of the face. Choose your route based on the conditions you encounter. Taking the face down gives you more options if the snow is soft in some areas.

Protection Suggest change

None required. Axe, crampons, and a helmet may prove a wise idea.
