Location

This route is located on the Las Bolas cliff at El Arenal. The Las Bolas cliff is located about a mile to the northwest (left) of the main portion of the El Arenal climbing area. Las Bolas is comprised of roughly a half dozen buttresses. This climb is located on the leftmost (northern) buttress, directly above a small, stone cabin and below that, a school.

From Mexico 130 about a kilometer north of the entrance to the town of El Arenal, drive up a nice paved road for several kilometers toward the cliff. As you near the cliff, there will be a weird cement block housing area on the right (it kind of looks like some sort of unfinished company housing area). The paved road will make a sharp left-hand turn just above the housing area and then parallel the cliff face. Park at a small school below the cliff and hike about ten minutes uphill to reach the crag.

The March 2013 climbing guide lists about 18 routes from 5.7-5.12c on Las Bolas.

Protection

Seven bolts and an anchor make up the climb. Rappel with a single 60m rope.
