Description

Climb steeper terrain through three bolts on the left side of the arete, then move right around the arete and finish up the technical slab. Crux is between 5th and 6th bolts, moving past small crimps and bad slopers. Might be a little easier if you head left to the arete.

Location

On the south-facing portion of the main wall.

Protection

7 bolts, anchors.

Exciting from the bottom to the top! Some crumbly holds up top after the crux, solid attentiveness and willingness for adventure will keep you on. Heck, it isn't called Shrapnel for nothing! After reaching the anchor, lead another 10 feet to a cool stance where you can overlook the rest of Promotory and Redwood Burl. Aug 24, 2015

Great climbing! A few flexing holds just before and in the midst of the crux will likely have this one measuring up to its grade in the near future. Jul 2, 2017
