Stay right of the arete on slopey hands and dime-edged feet to attain the upper slab. Great technical problem.


This problem is located on the south/stream side of the Shivers Boulder, just left of a partially decaying cottonwood tree. (See tree photo.)

Yeah, the Black Bible (A Bouldering Guide to Utah) has these listed as 2 separate problems. The LCC portion was written by a SLC local. Dale's is to the right of the arete. Right variation of the arete is an excellent problem! Kinda insecure stepping onto the upper slab. Nov 4, 2014

Hmmm... My SLC-native bouldering partner led me to believe that Dale's was the next route to the left. The one that starts on that horrid sloper in the dish above the black streak just right of the tree. My guide does list a Riverside Arete - right variation at V5. Nov 4, 2014
