Description

This route is named Bolt Line in the new Bay Area Rock book. Good holds on slightly-less-than-vertical rock makes for a sustained but easy climb.

Location

This route follows the face just left of Left Crack and is shown in the beta photo.

Protection

4 Bolts lead to the top where any of several bolts can be sued to build an anchor. Use long slings to extend it past the upper slab.

We set up a top rope and belayed from above. All of the bolts on this route showed significant rust. The top anchor was ok-ish, but I wouldn't trust most of the lead bolts. The other bolted anchor ~10ft climbers right of the route is in much better shape and could probably be used if you set up a redirect on the top bolt. Aug 29, 2018

I lead this route and I think the bolts seem fine. I would be happy to replace the bolts with glue ins if that were necessary but I don't think it is. A little corrosion on the hangar is fine, it's pitting and white dust you really want to look out for that signifies it may be corroded to the point of affecting the integrity of the bolt.
