Kokopelli

5.11-, Sport, 125 ft (38 m), 2 pitches,  Avg: 3.6 from 5 votes
FA: Bob and Carrie Robertson
Colorado > San Luis Valley > Manassa > Kokopelli

Description

This route is on great clean white rock. It takes a directed line up the longest section of rock. The first pitch is easy fifth class. The second pitch is what you came for. About 1/3 of the way up, it crosses a old line with 1/4" bolts but continues straight up the face on 3/8" bolts. It's the first line we climbed on Kokopelli and called the rock by the same name.

Location

Start on the right side of the rock just before the right-facing corner. You can get down with a 70mm rope, but knot the ends and downclimb the last 15 feet on easy fifth class climb, or do two rappels from the top anchor.

Protection

Pitch one has 3 bolts and an anchor. Pitch two has 11 bolts and an anchor.

[Hide Comment] Great climb especially if you link it into one mega-pitch. Very sustained on small edges with some thoughtful movement. For sure a calf burner with all that fancy foot work for 35 meters! Jan 28, 2021
