Bolt Failures - Donations Help Details

Description

This was the scene of a major accident in 2003, that first brought to light the dangers of steel bolts at a seaside crag.

An all-too-short hand crack and left-hand flake take you up to a big ledge. From here, grab the humongous jugs at the lip of the overhang, swing up, and reach high in the tips crack. Get your feet under you and pull some easy rails to the top.

Location

Right side of Discipline area mini-tower, above the Clocktower pond

Protection

Gear to 3" - small offset nut is essential
Bolts (2013) do not protect crux
Anchor: 316 steel (2013) and dangerous bolt (2003)
