Access Issue: Seasonal Raptor Closures & Rockfall Mitigation Project - Completed Details

Description

Aurora Sports Park would have to be located on East Colfax.

Climb the steep, overhanging wall above For the Grandchildren. It has a powerful move at the lip. Disregard the Xs on the rock near the top. They are solid and do not need to be used anyway.

Location

This is an extension above For the Grandchildren.

Protection

10 bolts to 2-bolt chains (the first 6 are on For the Grandchildren).

[Hide Comment] This is a fun route! The jug at the crux, on the overhanging wall, is amazing! The holds above are not as obvious, and the next bolt is committing to clip. If you can climb the grade and are at East Colfax, you should do it. Nov 9, 2014

[Hide Comment] Hard onsight for sure, easier once you know the sequence and where the holds are. I tried to clip the bolt above the roof from the lip, make the move first, then make the clip or you will waste a lot of energy. The pump clock will be ticking fast. Nov 9, 2014

[Hide Comment] If you are here and have absolutely no desire to go across the tyrollean to the amazing routes at Primo Wall, Crystal Tower, or The Armory...then you should get on this route, if for no other reason than to touch one of the best jugs you'll find outdoors. 75 feet, one big jug, one big star.
