Description [Suggest Change]

Steep crux crack at 2/3rds up ending at huge goiter cobble at the top of the crack. Easier climbing below and above. Grab them goiters!

Location [Suggest Change]

Third route to the left of obvious chimney in the middle of the wall. Look for dog tag at the base of the route identifying this route.

Protection [Suggest Change]

12 bolts to anchors

Seems to be confusion on this route and the next right one. The first route right of the 5.9 was in the sustained 5.10/10+ range and has the cobbles of ill reput name tag on it. It was one of the best i did that day. I'm guessing this one is "cobbles.....". There was another steep route to the right and maybe it is goitter grabber? That one has the. 5.8 to the right and could have an easier escape to the right. I didn't do the right of the 2. We need Jason to chime in and clarify or fix the order. Both pictures seem to be on the same route. The left of the two is REAL FUN Aug 3, 2014

I'm sure you're right, Rich. It's entirely possible the tag is on the incorrect route. Goiter Grabber is the route that goes up a steep crack feature with a large "goiter" cobble with a bolt in it at the top of the crack feature.
Cobbles of Ill Repute is the route right of Goiter Grabber that goes to shiny anchors on a bit of a pillar at the top with the anchors facing the river.
Sorry for any confusion. I'll check the tag out next time I go out. Aug 3, 2014

It does seem that the "cobbles of ill reput" dog tag is on goiter grabber right now. Either way I loved the route and the rating seemed close to what was on the tag so that people shouldn't get all freaked at the grade! The other 2 .10s that Susan and I did were just as good but we like the steeps better. We also did a .10c (pickled punks)at the sideshow cliff that was real good as well. As that turned out I could have done without getting stung by bees (had to finished the route though because it was good!!) GREAT WORK ON THIS CRAG guys, it's gonna be popular Aug 4, 2014

Awesome Rich! I'm really glad to hear you enjoyed it out there...it's a sweet spot with some entertaining climbing. I'm already looking forward to fall colors (and temps) there. Gorgeous. Bummer to hear about the bees on Pickled Punks...I think that's a great little line! Glad you survived.
We'll check on the tags and clear up any confusion the next time we're out but I'm sure you're right about the mix up.

Edit: Confusion has been cleared up. Tags are now in the proper places. :) Aug 4, 2014
