Green Circle

5.8, Trad, 75 ft (23 m),  Avg: 2 from 2 votes
FA: George Kokuryo - 2009
International > N America > Canada > Yukon Territory > Whitehorse > McIntyre Creek/… > McIntyre Bluffs

Description

The crux is at the very bottom. After the first crack you attain a ledge. Move up and left, to attain a dihedral. Easy climbing to the top.

Many will climb just the top crack (5.6-7) and avoid the bottom section.

Location

This route starts a level lower than the other routes. This is the first crack route after the roof and the tree.

Protection

Gear to 2". Single bolt where the crack ends, you can pull onto the slab and head right to bolted anchors.

[Hide Comment] The bottom section is dirty and definitely goes at harder than 5.8. The base of the upper crack can be reached easily by scrambling around to the base of Yoga Man. It is probably the most accessible, easy Trad lead in the whole territory with good gear the whole way with a single bolt protecting the upper, very easy slab. Goes at 5.6/5.7.

Cleaned out the vegetation (May 2023) and brushed as much as I could but it's still a bit dirty. Regardless, a great first Trad lead. May 11, 2023
