From the base of the route at about 7,800 feet, ascend steep snow, picking the line of least resistance, possibly traversing and climbing over loose rock, until at a prominent rock band. Traverse left across loose rock to lower-angle snow.

Approach via Boston Peak or via Sharkfin Col (or the nearby ridge to the East). Descend into Horseshoe Basin, up onto the Sahale Arm, and either down the Arm or up and over Sahale to the Quien Sabe Glacier.

Pickets, possibly screws, possibly a light rock rack, depending on conditions.
