Description

A route that came to be under the full moon of the Summer Soltice, Moonrise Kingdom is a powerful love story about thin cracks, thinner protection, and fierce boulder problems that, for once, may favor the short.

Start Moonrise Kingdom on unprotectable terrain to a stance for your first piece 18ft off the ground (V3+ R). After finding tiny pro move under the shield. Place your fragile tips just so and then try to pull them off. After some slab campusing move into the steep thin boulder problem to the finish stance on a ledge.

Location

Found on the right side of the Zebra Face to the right of a large outcove. Look for thin seam on a shield.

The start of Moonrise Kingdom could be serious if done incorrectly! For my leads I opted to bring in one of those practice climbing foam backpack pads to protect the bouldering up to the first piece and so I had something to sit on... Jul 3, 2014
